Lady of the Trees

I want to get lost
in the trees above me.
I want to wake up
to the chirping of the birds
perched upon my window sill.
I'll walk my kids down the river
where they'll make memories
that will last them a lifetime.
We'll run around without shoes
and not have to worry about laughing too loud,
because no one will live close enough to hear.
Rainy days will only bring joy
because it'll keep the beautiful world that we lost ourselves in
continue to be our little version of heaven.
