She sits in a crowded room,

waiting for the lesson to begin
to contain her anger, the only real emotion she feels.

Closing her eyes, she imagines the blood
of a few people who are not as innocent as they seem.

They walk up to her and talk,
making her force a smile.
They try to be her friends,
making her feign affection.

She is surrounded by deer
and her wolf stomach is growling.

She would never hurt an innocent,
no, they’re much too fun to observe.
The deep, meaningless emotions that they feel
and their petty need for company
obstructing any chance of order or discipline.

Class ends and later, as she does her homework,
pretending to be a good conformist
with her stellar schoolwork and active social life,
a knock on her door sounds.

How dare one of them disturb  her,
making her pretend to care,
to put the act on of a friendly and kind girl
that likes the mindless sheep that
society calls people.

She opens the door with a smile
and laughs away their apology
of bothering her at such a late hour,
welcoming the doe into her dorm room.

They need help with homework,
and as she locks the door,
she offers them a knife instead
right in their turned back.

She laughs at the irony
as she cleans the blood off of the blade,
the girl’s blond hair dyed red with her flowing blood
splayed out on the floor, her hazel eyes lifeless
and her sincere voice silenced
by the shallow emotions of a sociopath.
