Travel Through Books
I’ve lived through wars,
Battled dragons,
Defeated trained assassins,
Killed an evil alien race,
Saved Earth more times than I can count,
Slayed demons,
Experienced a happily ever after,
Used a patronus charm,
Conquered the Lonely Mountain,
Fell in love at first sight,
Taken down corrupt governments,
Spent years trapped on a deserted island,
Killed gods with sinister plans,
Survived a night in the maze,
Lost my entire family to diseases,
Been bitten by vampires,
Narrowly escaped hell,
Learned to love the devil,
Gone to heaven and came back,
Been caught in a grueling love triangle,
Done amazing things with a purple crayon,
Ran into battle yelling “For Narnia”,
Had the official title of “Ring-bearer”,
Won a fight against Socs,
Ran away from home,
Had tests not work on me,
Found a rather slippery rabbit hole,
Grown a tale and gills,
Solved a few mysteries,
And I’ve even bought myself a yellow hat and befriended a rather inquisitive monkey.
I have lived a million lives,
Traveled to distant lands,
Seen the world through other’s eyes,
Made friends with fictional beings,
Known love without limits,
And have been victim to much suffering and loss without even leaving my room.
Books are companions that never fail,
Even when all else does.

I love to read, so I wrote a poem about it.
