The Darkness
The enveloping cold enfolds you,
Scares you, chills you to the bone.
You cannot escape it,
It follows you til’ you’re dead in your grave.
Silent with the night, with an all fear of light.
And with every disappearance of it,
Brings forth the gnawing fear of its return.
It will find you, devour you, consume you til’ no more.
You can run, it shall find you.
You can hide, it shall find you.
The companion of Death, the birthplace of Fear.
What is in it? Will it hurt me?
The truth of it mystifies us,
For the very thing we all fear the most,
Is the very essence of Fear in its purest form,
Darkness
