A Chance Worth Taking
I took a chance
on the weather and walked down the street-
who knew what would happen
The car struck from behind- leaving me
lying on the side of the road.
I stayed in a Boston hospital for four nights,
with no broken bones but a crippled spirit.
Wondering how to go about
my life- choices to make.
Where to go from here?
Can I hold my head high?
Or crawl into an angry corner and sulk?
Tragedy strikes everywhere
and I refuse to be a victim.
I will hold my head high
and share my story of that fateful sunny day.
I don’t know why it happened to me
but I took a chance and I’m glad I did.
It changed me.
Forever.
