Discrimination
Free fish swim gracefully
through deep blue seas
through rushing currents with lots of friends
swimming high and swimming low,
swimming fast and swimming slow.
But trapped fish thrash
inside walls of glass
no freedom to follow their dreams,
not able to swim high or low
not able to swim fast only slow
no power to find peace and sleep,
instead all they can do is weep.
Free fish awake form their lively homes
ventuing out for fish that roam
stalking down an unwary prey
and gobbling it up without dismay
well-fed and satisfied the free fish head back
and decide to take a well-deserved nap.
But trapped fish awake from an alarming sound
to see their morning meal raining down
wondering what this food may be
with never a say about this mystery
with no choices left it seems unfair
they swim back home in great despair,
and know that all they can do is weep.
