Unprescribed Pain

I take a deep breath as the 
unprescribed pain killer
fills my system
clouding my judgment and
replacing the pain 
that once consumed me
with an unfelt haze.
Slowing losing consciousness
where fiction and reality
mix and meet; 
patiently waiting
for the pain filled world to disappear 
and only become a distant 

Memory.
