The wishful snowflake glides through
the air without a sound.
She has never asked for much.
She only wanted what her family denied giving her.
She wanted their love.

She always wished she would be built into
something big and beautiful.
Something everyone can see and remember.
But her dreams were torn when she landed in a river.
She needed their love.

That river quickly filled her veins,
giving her the rush that she needed.
Giving her the love she always wanted.
She didn’t care that it wasn’t from people she had loved
She had an exigency for the river.

But as that river ran her in its direction,
she lost hold of where she was going.
She began to melt.
Her family became dysphoric.
They needed her.

She became the river.
Merely an addiction.
