I will spend years in silence
Trapped in the suffocating darkness of my soul
I will wait as long as it takes
Until I am set free

To be picked up
To see a hand reaching out
To tear me from the shadows
I will wait as long as it takes
Until I am set free
And if I am never freed from my soul
If I am never torn from the shadows
If I am left to drown in myself
I will still wait
Until my lungs heave their final sighing breath
And my eyes close for a final time
Then I will stop waiting
And fly to meet you
