Love?
What is love?
What is the point?
What's the point of loving
Someone if it only ends with
Your heart on thefloor
Under
The foot of someone who said
"I love you?"
They've stolen it and hid it
Away in some cold, dark place
With a point of no return.
And no matter how hard you
Try
And try
And try, and try
You can't seem to love anything anymore.
It's impossible when there
Is nothing there,
But a black hole in my chest,
And your voice in my head.

I was inspired to write this piece because I went through a very long relationship with someone who I thought I was in love with. I realize now, that love isn't supposed to treat you like that, although it's still hard to recover from something, or somebody, that messed you up in the head for quite possibly the rest of your life.
