Trees at War
The sound of gun fire,
The smell of fireworks.
Even the trees seemed like war,
War is a dark thing.
We proceeded with caution,
We stopped with fear,
They seemed to stop as well,
We just looked at each other,
Like a puppy begging for a treat,
We charged each other,
It seemed to take as long
As a turtle walking across the road,
Still charging we started to shoot,
They shoot back,
Many died…
