Dodging Bullets
It circles around
like swift ‘copter blades,
waiting to eat us alive.
My brother comes out of cover,
sprinting through the field
full of desires and ambitions.
Dodging bullets left and right,
one slip could mean disaster,
yet destination is tangible.
A torrent of shock jolts through.
Shivers desolate my thoughts,
I try to understand why.
With a grenade blast,
Eden’s apple of war.
All is shattered
The clock has broken.
Time has stopped
In a single moment.
The world;
upside-down,
spinning.
