Eyes open but she couldn't see anything. Blinded by the darkness she closed her eyes to only find more darkness. But she could find light. She played images in her head of summer days, Christmas mornings, and birthdays. Everything began to warm up inside her, shedding light that bounced off her bones and through her veins. She pierced her vein and out spilled red coloured lights. It flowed onto the walls like sunlight and at that moment she was alive, in her self-dug grave.

The author's comments:

Some days can be filled with so much fear and darkness. I felt inspired by moments and people in my life who had trouble getting out of the phases of depression, anxiety and loss. I hope that by reading this, people do not feel alone and can feel like there are others who experience pain.
