Waiting For You
I sat and waited for you to come
to come and sit beside me
sit together on the damp, green grass.
We would watch as the sunset slow drifts away
I waited
I sat on the damp, green grass alone
I watched the sunset drift away
I was waiting for you
but you never came
I was hoping
lying in the grass
a tear rolls down my cheek
but I waited
and you never came

I wrote this poem from my experience. I was asked to a school dance by a boy that I really liked and I said yes. I got to the dance all dressed up and I sat in the front of the school and waited for him. I stayed there waited until the dance was nearly over, but he never came.
