Just Because
Just because I'm an artist
Doesn't mean I’m disorganized
Doesn't mean I’m going to be unemployed
And doesn't mean I have no chance
Just because I’m an artist
Doesn't mean everything I make is pleasing
Doesn't mean I won’t make a statement
Doesn't mean I’m arrogant
Just because I’m an artist
Doesn't mean I’m a “lost spirit”
Doesn't mean I’m in a dead-end job
Doesn't mean I’m a dark person
Just because I’m an artist
Have you seen my art?
Does what I do with my life affect yours?
Haven’t you been told “be what you want to be”?
I am an artist.

I was told forever when I was yound that I could be anything I ever wanted. Not until recently was I told that being an artists was a dead end job. I want this poem to inspire possible artists to do what they love.
