It’s been said that form is the key to success in running.
Aligning your arms, your legs in order to push yourself forward
in the quickest way possible.
They say to take deep breaths, keep the oxygen flowing,
I keep my rhythm, I’m the only one knowing
these beats.
The thoughts in my head.
And when my legs feel dead,
I still keep on going.
Stretch your legs out in a nice long stride,
but don’t make it too wide,
You’d get injured if you tried.
They say it’s a mental sport, that your mind’s the only obstacle,
Just think it and it’s possible.
Keep moving, you’re unstoppable.
But the pain grows stronger,
the distance feels longer.
I push and push and I just can’t get there.
I feel exhausted everywhere.
I’m drained.
Mentally and physically, I want to just give in.
The strength that running brings, the endurance that it takes,
the discipline,
That’s what I win.
It strengthens me, I push through.
In other things in my life too.
I've learned to move through the pain,
to refill when I’m drained,
to work hard for the things I wish to gain.
