A shadow of reality glints beyond reach-
The panes creating a mirage of true events.
Outside the sky is black velvet,
But the dulled echoes of everyday life
Mask stars and storms alike.
Blurred and distorted, tearful images wait
For loved ones to return,
For hope to revive,
For dawn to escape the night at last.
Joy and pain and longing too
Are reflections in the glass.
