Identity
Lost in the moment
We sing
Pretending we are infinite
Not just grains of sand
on the vast beach of life
Praying to be remembered
Not hidden in the pages of this novel
Signing our names to history
We don't matter
The stars laugh
We are so small
Yet to them we still call
And dance in their light
Made up gods
To which we give ourselves
Desperately clinging to the hope
That we are a part of something more
Here I stand
To the universe I ask why
I yell out with a longing cry
Who am I?
