But You Didn't
Remember the day I borrowed your new phone
And dropped it in the pool?
I thought you’d get mad at me.
But you didn’t, you loved me.
Remember the time I spilled hot chocolate all over your bed?
I thought you’d yell at me.
But you didn’t, you hugged me.
Remember the day I dragged you to pool
And you said it’d rain and it did?
I thought you would say “I told you so”
But you didn’t, you put up with me.
Remember the time I forgot to tell you the swim meet was changed to 11
And you ended up waking up at 6?
I thought you’d hate me.
But you didn’t, you cherished me.
There were a lot of things you didn’t do that I thought you would
And there were a lot of things I wanted to say
When you got back from Tokyo.
But you didn’t.
