Giants
open my eyes
it's dark inside
wherever I've been thrown
I peek my head
out from under
a blue striped bed
I see the giant
coming towards me
scared he's seen me
so scared now
where will I be thrown
next?
which giant will own me
next?
a huge sweaty hand reaches for me
but I slip away
under the bed again
creak goes the floor and
I can see the giant's head
big blue eyes back and forth
looking for me in the dark
he mumbles and I get a whiff
of morning breath
(geez, this guy needs to brush his teeth)
I can't see his face anymore
just socks
receding
I can relax now
I think
maybe not
he's coming back
dirty socks and morning breath
towards the edge of the bed
I can see his face again
and then
a blinding flash of light in my face
he has found me
I'm swiped up in the air
"aha!" says the giant
I am shoved into his pocket
where it smells like dust
movement
so much movement
too much movement
I am sick
I cannot stay awake much longer
the last thing I remember is being taken
out into the light again
goodbye to
dirty socks and morning breath
hello to a new giant
