Stolen Pride
Like the sun it shone bright
when I touched it for the first time
Like a lion boasting with pride
I stood on top smiling wide
But then the sun set early
Lion short of pride
I could only stare wistfully
off to the side
The sun never rose again
Who knows why?
My chest grew heavy
Tears in my eyes
Then out of the midst
shone a column of light
right on the TIGER
lurking in the night
No light, No pride,
Who was I?
And I knew I must try
using rage from my eyes
The forest caught ablaze
and I found warmth
there by the fire and the grave
of those who had stolen my pride and faith.
