Broken veins
Life was too hard,
it got too dark.
There was no light,
you were too sacred to fight.
So drugs became your escape,
and you got help too late.
You became addicted,
your mind was conflicted.
I must stop before I die,
But I cannot function off a high.
you shot up to appease your brains,
but all you got were broken veins.
Your spark was slowly quenched,
and you were permanently on the sidelines, benched.
Those drugs took away your most precious gift, life,
addiction was the murderer's knife.
