A World Of Darkness
I took off my glasses because I didn't want to see, the dark things the world could be.
I didn't want to notice a crying boy, outside he sleeps.
A pregnant women as she weeps.
A drunken man who was once happy and proud,
but now when he is sober he walks with his head down.
A girl who knows what it is to be alone,
sitting in a house that isn't a home.
A baby toy laying in the dirt,
a heart that doesn't work.
The world is broken,
broken like my eyes.
When I realized this I gave them another try.
I put on my glasses so I could see
how dark the world could be.
The I realized there was a light, and many this light could be, passed along starting with me.

This was written is study hall, inspired by the sadness everyone in the world carries. To me, we all can somehow share some love (light) with someone, and maybe even change their lives. It's important to love, and notice pain.
This was also inspired by my hatred of my glasses that I hadn't worn for a long time because I figured it was better off not to see. This is not the case at all. We all need to keep our eyes open and not ignore other's needs.
