boyhood indictment

a boy
a boy with a dream that’ll never come true
because he’s dead,
gunned down at the hands of a man
made to protect him.
a gentle giant murdered by the police
on the way to his grandmother’s.
no indictment for officer wilson,
but there’s one for michael brown,
never to see the light of day again.
