Curfew
Pills, discarded needles, glass from broken bottles
Intoxicated teens...
Can’t this be stopped?
Can't there be a roadblock?
Yes?
No?
What about curfew?
That dreadful word...
Teens despise it
But why?
Party times are taken away
They resent those who support it
“It’s to protect you!”
A caring friend cries to the partiers
“We are just fine, nothing is going to happen.”
The others laugh along
The friend starts to cry
What they don’t know is she lost someone dear to her
She lost him to the life of the party
She feels lost and alone again
Her ‘friends’ think the bottom of the bottle
Is better than someone who cares about their well-being
“Drinking doesn’t do anything, neither does Smoking. Stupid!”
You take health class you watch the T.A.D video before sports
You know the consequences.
The damage it causes
Not just to you
But... to those who care like me
Curfew
That dreadful word...
Teens despise it
But in the end it protects them
Optimal party times are gone
Less teens dropping out of school
More time to study
Raise GPA
Later in life you may thank me
But right now?
You hate me...
Because of a simple word;
“Curfew?”
Yes.
