My Girl

At first glance
She seemed so plain
Nothing more
Than the average dame
Then we sat
And spoke a while
I couldn’t help
But notice her smile
A clever twinkle
Lit up her eyes
Much like stars
Illuminate the skies
Then I thought
This girl’s rather pretty
Didn’t you know
I took her to the city
