To Feel the Rain
A tremendous rumble
the Earth trembles below
Thunder, nearly deafening
accompany radiant eruptions.
Rain pours down
cascades over tin roofs.
A single silhouette
stands in the torrent
Silver droplets
descend onto cold skin
unfaltering, they gaze at the sky.
Sirens blare warnings
thin frame presses off
a dripping cement wall.
Feels every atmospheric tear prick their face
before it carrasses their cheek
Washes away guilt and pain
beauty unfolds in acceptance
understanding the creation of a "new you"
After all, there is no beauty without trial
There will be no rainbow without rain
A smile tugs on chapped lips
soaked hair
drenched shirt
They revel in the embrace
Some people feel the rain
Others just get wet
