Far away, not so long ago beneath the blossoming trees. Stood a little girl so pretty and sweet. Her eyes like the ocean, her hair the golden grain. But that pretty girl stood weeping under those blossoming  trees, looking down at the ground with flowers in hand. Laying in front of her, a single stone engraved with words so sweet; Here lay a father, a brother, a son. Who fought for his country but never won. And then suddenly a bright light shone from above. A man appeared and spoke; "There, there my sweet child. Dry your tears. For the angels in heaven are rejoicing for all to hear. For I am home where I belong to live forever more. Someday soon I promise you, you'll be here with me. Dancing, singing, and praising our father, the Almighty King." And in an instant he was gone. She stood there for a moment struck with awe. And then to her knees she fell. She folded her hands and closed her eyes, and began to pray: " Thank you dear Jesus for the time I had with my hero, my best friend, my dad. I pray you make a special place for me, right next to him so that when it's my time to leave, he's the first one I see when I enter your kingdom. Amen." She opened her eyes, stood up and smiled, and looked up into the sky. Then there suddenly shone a rainbow and she knew in her heart that her prayer had been heard. She lay the flowers by his grave and slowly walked away. No more would she cry, no more tears would she shed, for someday soon she'd  see him again but until then she'd wait. The years pasted and she grew old. One day as she lay in her bed she thought back to that day, when she saw her father and remembered the words he had spoke; "There, there my sweet child. Dry your tears. For the angels in heaven are rejoicing for all to hear. For I am home where I belong to live forever more. Someday soon I promise you, you'll be here with me. Dancing, singing, and praising our father, the Almighty King." She closed her eyes and there shone a bright light. "Welcome home my child. It's been a long time. I've been here watching you grow and now your time has come. To be home where you belong to live forever more. Like I promised you'll be here with me. Dancing, singing, and praising our Glorious Father, the Almighty King." She took his hand and he took hers and together they walked, as the angels rejoiced for all to hear welcoming their sister home into the Kingdom of God.

This is the result of a writing exercise I decided to do one Saturday because I was bored. The things my mind can create when I'm bored is truly unbelievable!!!
