Mrs. Bourne should be nominated for Educator of the Year. She works very hard and is very dedicated to her job of teaching students. She works at North Broward Preparatory school. She teaches math up to Pre Algebra. Last year was my first year of having her as a teacher. If I thought back over all the things I’ve learned and accomplished through the time of her being my teacher, you wouldn’t believe it. She has taught me so much and it amazes me about how dedicated she is to her students.

Before she became my teacher I used to be scared of coming to math class because I didn't understand anything and my teacher would never take me aside. When I help on a problem she explains it to me it to me in another way without get frustrated. The most helpful thing she does if I ask is she gives me some extra problems that we can solve together to make sure I understand the topic completely. Now that she is my teacher, I look forward to coming to math class. When I solve problems and get the right answer it is a good feeling because then I know that I have worked hard to understand this topic.  She makes class fun and exciting especially. She lets us play math games in which they make us think and use the topic were learning to play the game. I have never been more interested in a subject before because she makes us want to get the problems right. If we get a problem incorrect she motivates to work harder next time, to get it correct.

Mrs. Bourne is very understanding and sweet. She is someone I can rely on if I need to talk or ask a question. She always tries to make all her student in the class feel safe and comfortable. Her teaching style is amazing. She goes a bit slower in class so everyone understands the topic. This is my second year having her as a teacher. This year the topics get a bit more complicated as I moved up math levels. Mrs. Bourne still finds a way to make me understand it without getting stressed like I usually do. In the last two years of her being my teacher, I have had more than a 90 percent in every report card for her class!

This year is my last year in pre algebra and she doesn't teach algebra so I will have a new teacher. I am hoping she decides to follow me up to high school. Every student she has taught, she touched their lives in someway. Mrs. Bourne is an incredible women and teacher and I couldnt thank her enough. Mrs. Bourne should be nominated for Educator of the Year.
