ROSIE
She arrived from Missouri.
We picked her out online.
A sweet little fluff ball with pink bows on her ears.
Cutest thing you have ever seen.
But that is not what arrived
We were expecting the picture of the lab that we saw online..
What did arrive however, was some odd mixture of beagle
and lab.
Black fur, but
everything about her looked like a beagle,
12 pounds.
Cupped eyes.
Long ears.
Big nose.
Skinny tail.
When we first saw her we were,
needless to say
shocked.
But after a week we fell absolutely in love with her.
Everything about her seemed comical.
She was a small dog with ears that dragged to the floor,
big paws which would always make her trip
and a head so big she could barely hold it up.
She is finally starting to seem proportional,
4 years later.
One of a kind is the best way to describe Rosie.
I've never seen a dog that looks quite like her.
Or that can match her big personality.
She charms everyone she meets,
well everyone except the UPS man.
She also has a very interesting logic.
We basically bought her the tempurpedic of dog beds ,
but apparently she would rather sleep on the hard cold
wood floor.
Whenever we try to play fetch with her,
she runs right past the ball ,
and back to us.
But thats Rosie for you.
Short legs.
Long body.
Big heart.
She always has to be near you.
Her head touching your arm.
At times,
she seems to be a human.
She gets overly excited
to the point of her doing a little dance.
We thought she would mature with age……
Big mistake.
But that’s the way we like her.
She wasn’t quite the puppy in the picture.
She is much much better.
