Don’t tell me you know me.
I am an ocean and you have only seen the horizon.
A girl is not just someone that you can lay your eyes on.
Go past the horizon, get into my thoughts.
What you thought i was, you will find I am not.

Don’t tell me you know me.
I am a garden but you choose to only look at the weeds, not the flowers.
So what I’m messed up? I’ll be fine in an hour.
Don’t focus on those qualities, I have good ones too.
If you take the time to know me, you’ll find that holds true.

Don’t tell me I need you.
The bones in my skeleton are the only structure I need.
I dont want to talk about it. Just leave me alone please.
You can’t say my home life is falling apart.
My home is my brain, my fingers, my heart.

Don’t tell me you’re sorry.
Pity is another word for pathetic, but I am strong enough on my own.
I’m moving to another house but it’ll never be a home.
I don’t want anyones attention or pity.
I just want to get out of this small town, take me to the city.

Don’t tell me you love me.
I fall for words not actions, and I might make the mistake of believing you.
We’re so young. I don’t know what love is, and neither do you.
Am I really supposed to believe that what you’re saying is true,
When even my parents are saying they’re through?

Don’t tell me you know me because I don’t even know myself.
