Musicality
I am a musician
I become one with the music
I can no longer tell
Where the music ends
And my person begins
I cannot tell
Where passion meets motivation
Where desperation meets inspiration
Or where everything has merged
And there’s no going back
Like the cannabis for musicians
That feeling is what I live for
Why then
Do people insist that
Being a musician is useless?
That nothing good will come because of it?
Am I really wasting my time?
Or is that just another excuse?
Why insist that music is useless,
When music has saved more souls
Than medicine ever will?
People insist that paths in music
Will lead me nowhere but misery
Nowhere but unpaid bills
And an immeasurable debt
What they will never let me explain
Is how every time I play
I feel alive
I feel what love truly is
I feel that for that one moment
I am truly happy
But they will never let me explain
Because they don’t care
In their world,
Failure
Is what music leads to
Because success to them
No longer means being happy
Or being satisfied with life
Because happiness has been demoted
To number two
On their list of priorities
