Oh, Marshmallow you taste so good I love you
you contain a burst of sugar when bitten into
your billowy body is like a toasty cushion, for my mouth

When I chomp down on you
you fall apart and melt in my mouth

I can imagine you paired with a heaping cup of rich hot cocoa
bobbing on the top
other memories of Winter pop into my mind.

Animal lovers don’t relish/appreciate that you are made from cow hooves
I think you are heavenly

When I bring you home
You are smooshed in a bag with all of your other friends
the translucent powder covering your puffy outside

When I touch you, you spring back
your bouncing body persistent

When I take a bite and swallow you, you  glide down my esophagus
the taste buds resting in the back of my mouth excite
and smile due to your pure sugar content

As I bite your other side I admire the inside of your body,
your surface glistens
the sugar crystals seem to sparkle in the dim light of the room
in mid afternoon of a brisk day
