Your eyes are like violets,
Your face is a garden
Of freckles and stray eyelashes.
I’m careful to pick the weeds
So you won’t be harmed.
I watch you at the movies,
Seeing the screen with your face illuminated
By the pictures and the sounds,
And wonder is all around me.
I think about you like I think about paintings;
You become more detailed and beautiful
The more I look at you.
The colors in your eyes are enough.
