Fences
The day
I saw you
vulnerable,
was
the day
I knew
I
could never
love
anyone more;
because,
you built
a fence
up
around
your emotions,
and
after years
of
ramming your head,
into
that fence,
I helped
you
take it down,
plank,
by,
plank,
being left
empty
and exposed.
And
when you
wanted
to hammer
each
nail,
back in,
I held
my
palm,
against the wood,
letting
the nails,
go halfway
through
my flesh,
veins,
spilling.
