The Darkness Above Us
Blackness is all my eyes see as
the twilight approaches.
Stars, so bright and flame filled,
will not exist in the sky tonight.
In darkness dwelt the sound of
nothing; It is just pure silence.
On this night, the rhythm of the heart
beat is the only sound you will hear.
At the break of dawn, the sun, swift
and sweet, will rise above us.
God will brighten this earth
like a dreamily dream.
But as for this moment,
blackness is all my eyes see as
the tow light approaches.

The inspiration came from just sitting in my room at night, looking out my window, and observing my surroundings. It's amazing how such a good poem can come out of nature.
