down memory lane,
where I was only a child
and didn't have to complain.

where the sky was blue
and the sun shined bright,
when my family stuck together
and it was always a good night.

when there were no hospitals
and there were no frightened times,
when my only fear was
the darkness of the night.

when I was daddy's little girl
and he was always around,
to teach me how to ride a bike
and to take me to the playground.

when he kept me from falling
and kept me from getting hurt,
when he picked me flowers straight from the dirt.

when life was simple
and I was happy as can be.
