She Sits There
She sits there under the big Maple tree looking at the sunset
It’s a beautiful evening.
She looks so beautiful.
I glance at her very subtly avoiding eye contact
Sadly I’m too scared to talk to her.
What should I say?
How do I approach her?
I'll probably freeze up and slur all words.
She makes my heart beat a thousand times a minute.
She sits there so peacefully.
I gaze at her from a distance.
She suddenly sees me and our eyes lock on to one another.
I love her light blown eyes.
We’re staring into one another’s eyes and she gives me the slightest smile.
She stares at me as if time and everyone is completely frozen but us.
My knees start buckle, my heart is pounding, and I become short of breath.
Will she come say something to me?
Or will we both continue to look into each other’s eyes?
Suddenly I hear my name from a distance,
Telling me it’s time to go.
I don’t want to leave but I have to.
He waves at me and I wave back.
As I’m leaving I pass the big maple tree,
And I still see her.
Sitting there.
