Where Earth Meets Sea
The pitter-patter of feet on sand provides harmony for the crashing waves.
The surf stealthily creeps up the beach, then retreats back to the sea.
Why are we the only ones on this beautiful beach?
The midday Sun sneaks past my squinted eyelids, blinding me.
An ocean liner gives a doleful bellow, saluting us from afar.
Seagulls hold conversations far above our heads in their relentless chatter.
Sunlight bounds off the crystalline sea and into my eyes.
The blue sky is a mirror image of the sea below.
Shells littering the beach poke and prod my bare feet.
The Pier stands majestically, guarding his seaside sanctuary.
I am filled with reminiscence as I recall Florida beach trips.
Is anyone else loving this as much as I am?
Perfect.
Perfect.
Perfect.

This was originally for a school assignment, but my teacher urged me to submit it to Teen Ink. It was written about the beach at Tybee Island, Georgia.
