Heloisa
She laughs, in innocent joy of loving
She knows, she is stable where she is.
Tangling into the strands of loose hair
Curly, frizzy hair, where no pleasure would be found
She finds it. She secures it, in her nails and through
Her fingers, making sure it is her mother who holds her.
She calls our names, pulling us into her loving eyes.
She dreams small dreams, pure dreams
They’re full of illusion, made of gold
Of golden freedom, of golden worlds.
They jump like rabbits, they ask for care.
She is tiresome from ocean affairs
Sea stars and seaweed, have polished her skin
She fades away, into a greater land.
An aura of silence and peace grows.
Let nobody wake her up, as she runs through
The gardens of a place, she’ll never awake
Find again.

My two-year-old sister Heloisa inspired me to write this piece. This is who she is right now, what describes her, and what my perspective of her is. I always spend a lot of time observing her and all her movements.
