Hues of Optimism
I have hope
sometimes too much hope
so much hope
that when the outcome desired
fails to satisfy
dismay paints a clear coating
over my world
I allow it to control my happiness
But why?
I’m not so sure
Or maybe
just maybe
I have hope in people, friendships, loved ones…
that don’t even have hope in themselves
they’re blossoms ready to bloom
that if they only had hope for their futures
their petals would blush with hues
of the rainbow
But without hope
there is no sunshine
and no rain
to guide them to
prosperity
