A Killer Story
It's your turn she said as she nudged me with her knee,
"No," I said for ghost stories didn't come naturally,
I'm perfectly fine with my candy and my pumpkin,
But she was stubborn, she wanted me to join in.
"Fine," I gave in as I started my spooky tale,
It began slow, then I added more detail,
The rocket explosion that was my mind continued to expand,
I described horrifc creatures all from a faraway land.
Creepy stuff from rapists to organs to handcuffs,
They said, "This ain't real I'm callin' all your bluffs!"
"No!" I exclaimedl, as I began stroking my knife,
Welcome to the realities of my own life,
My friends ran off then, hearts filled with fright,
That would be the end of them this Halloween night.

I wrote this on Halloween day and wanted a different spin on the idea of ghost stories and how sometimes they are not all fake.
