Christ's Crucifixion
Simple and shaping
as it drops to the page
The tear breaking silence
for love without rage
Its symbolism kind
and full of empathy,
for the character
who’s story has been told for a century
What he gave,
His heart and love
A second chance
sent from above
The tears I shed
are thankful and pure
for the love he gave
let’s me endure

I wrote this piece during my 10th grade English classes opening journal write. We had a number of prompts and I chose to write about crying. I thought about very real things that brought people to tears when reading. So this is a peom about thankful and loved filled tears for the sacrifice of Christ. -EM
