It’s the silver lining
Tainted with our blood
Thoughts come pouring out
Stinging as they sing their sweet melodies of relief
With a sigh we relapse from the broken promises we never intended to keep
Right foot
Left foot
One backward step at a time
A movie in rewind
Ending with us as the cause of our own demise
It’s just the silver lining
Glinting in our shaking hands
To which we can’t help but succumb to its demands

I was inspired to write this piece based off of how many people commit suicide and self harm, and are suffering from different disorders, mainly depression.
