Affronted
Why did I hide away from you?
A scared little girl, scarred by the truth.
A being so small and so so scared.
But it seemed your hearing had been impaired.
I begged you to stop,
I pleaded to leave.
And your “love” then removed my heart from my sleeve.
The girl everyone knows is but a facade, and each day that I wear it I feel like a fraud.
And yet the mask still remains,
tried but by no means true.
And the fault of it all, lies not with me, but with
you.
