Running On Rooftops
Running on Rooftops
It’s breathtaking on the rooftops!
It is the Bees Knees.
Everyone is retreating to their pretty little houses.
The street light has turned on,
And a working dad has just mowed his lawn.
I see a night owl walking his dog,
Walking carelessly through the dim lit streets.
The moon shines bright and the
Stars gaze, leaving the world below them in awe,
Without revealing a single flaw.
A policeman inches along in his car,
With nothing to do at this time of night.
He seeks and searches
Looking about for something gone wrong,
But this little neighborhood is sweet as a song.
All are off to sleep by now,
But the nocturnal are just awaking.
I watch them creeping out of the darkness
It is time for them to have their time,
And now I will end this with a rhyme.
