Struggle
You wake up with a smile,
starting the day off right.
As the day goes on
little things take your smile away.
You start to think
about going back,
to your old habits. But,
then you think about him.
And you smile again.
Day after day,
things bring you down.
Day after day,
you want to go back.
Day after day,
you convince yourself,
that there is light on the other side.
Society is messed up.
Telling you that you aren’t perfect.
You don’t have the right:
hair, skin tone, height, weight.
He tells you the opposite.
He’s only one person though.
Day’s go on.
You start to believe him,
little by little.
He tells you he loves you,
that you’re perfect,
you have perfect everything,
you are all he ever needs.
But you only think about
What society is telling you,
What everyone else is saying.
You don’t realize that,
there is someone who
desperately cares and loves you.
You can’t look past
all the flaws and things that you hate.
Those flaws
give him a reason to love you.
Everything that you hate.
He loves.
Don’t think about,
what society is telling you.
Don’t think about,
Stepping on a scale.
Don’t think about,
having the newest flaws.
Think about,
the ones that love you for you.
Think about,
not changing anything.
Think about,
being yourself.
Because being yourself,
is what makes you, you.
