State Champs
I started without thinking then, to cover my tracks I regained my composure.
When I checked back into the game,
I had to do something big to change the momentum.
I was nervous
Sweaty palms
Wet arms
Smelly teenagers going through puberty
I stole the ball and dashed up court
I was all alone
I could see the crowd chanting and exploding out of their seats
I start flying into the air
Before I know it, im at the rim
Dunk!
I slam it down and the crowd erupts
We have the momentum now and were ready to run with it
The other team doesn't know what hit them
They begin to make stupid mistakes and we can see the fear in their faces.
We were pulling away and they were getting annihilated
The clock runs out
You could see the joy in everyones faces
State Champs
Finally, all of the hard work has paid off
Even though that moment was amazing
I couldn’t wait to do it all over again
