Growth
And I didn't grow to hate razors but now I know they're made for shaving. And I didn't grow to hate whiskey but i know now it's not made to drown in. And I didn't grow to hate you but I know you're no good to me and I'm no good to you. We used to think we lead the greatest of lives but darling all we did was survive side by side, and you can't possibly have called that living when we spent most of time avoiding life. and I don't know about you, but I dreamt of not dreaming and I dreamt of losing breath. And I don't think you ever knew the depth of my sadness but I think you knew most people didn't cry at three AM and I think you knew most people didn't practice sinking instead of swimming.
But I want to tell you I'm ok now, I know which way is up and which is down, and when things get fuzzy please know I know not to drown and to put my feet back on the ground, because although I always liked flying I never could survive falling. And I know that now.
