Father Dearest
I don't want to whine
I want to be strong
It's what you told me to do
To be all along
I feel blind I feel dumb
From the world I hide
Their laughs make me numb
It's not enough to say I miss you
Things now are rough
I just need you
My best friend
My hero
My father dear
Why oh why
Did you go from here
And although I'm lost
And cold without you
I know your at peace
and that you see me too
I'll make you proud
I swear i will
I've always needed you
And I love you still
When you smile down upon me
From the heavens above
i hope you feel proud
When you see what I've done
I'll live up to your legacy
Impossible though it seems
I'd give my life
For your eyes to gleam
I have your laugh,
Your smile they say
I swell with pride
And say 'I'm okay'
I'm not of course
But I will in time
You'll see dad
I'll shine
I'll shine
